Inspiration comes from the Word alone?

Updated: Jun 21, 2019

Yes.Christians will tell you this is true,as well.

I saw Christian singer/songwriter Barry McGuire at a free church concert he gave in Pakuranga,Auckland,New Zealand.

He looked tired, haggard and was in a grumpy mood. I had never ever heard of him until I found an old greatest hits tape (of all his best Christian tunes) in a second hand cassette shop, listened to him on an old walk-man cassette player, as had an hours walk home! Damn son! The man moved me,motivated me, mentally, emotionally, spiritually like no other!

And listening to this song years later,he still does!

I think, well as far as I recall,he lived in New Zealand for years.

Only one book (apart from the Aramaic scriptures in English), moved me,motivated me,emotionally, and spiritually, as this man's music has, and that was Corrie Ten Boom's book "The hiding place".

So,friends,as a christian,or a non-christian,find that which moves you,motivates you,emotionally,and spiritually...

"As Christians we spend too much time in the Word of God,and tend to forget to relate our experiences, feelings with,or to the scriptures."

Barry McGuire -- Love Song (incorrect You Tube title; it's actually called

Love Is).

"Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart with all thy soul With all thy mind with all thy strength and love thy neighbor as thyself

Well love is gentle, love is kind And love is giving and it's not blind And love is choosing for the right rejecting the wrong

Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart with all thy soul With all thy mind with all thy strength and love thy neighbor as thyself

Well love is keeping his commands Greater love hath no man Than he lay down his life for a friend Love never ends

Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart with all thy soul With all thy mind with all thy strength and love thy neighbor as thyself

Well love is quiet, love is strong And love is patient, suffering long Where love lives there is no fear Now can you hear

Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart with all thy soul With all thy mind with all thy strength and love thy neighbor as thyself And love thy neighbor as thyself...."
